Film! Oh how I love thee!! The way it captures light is amazing. When people ask me why I am so in love with film, I always tell them it is because it melts the light so perfectly. It blends contrasting light and darkness in a beautiful way that is reminiscent of a painting. There are no hot spots with film, or burn out, just perfection.
I was so happy when I found out I was going to be able to shoot hybrid for Travis and Melissa’s Poway wedding. We met at The Living Way Church on the corner of Midland Road and Twin Peaks and we zoomed over to the Old Poway Train Park for First Look pictures and portraits with the wedding party. Old Poway is a historically restored park filled with train memorabilia including a working train track. This is the only track I would ever take pictures on because it is a controlled environment with specific times that the train runs, so it was completely safe. The park has a shady canopy that allowed us to take some fantastic shots. And I am so in love with these captures I got on film.
After the ceremony, we went back to the park for family portraits and portraits of the bride and groom. I love how they set aside time to slow down and enjoy each other’s company on their wedding day. Congratulatons to Mr. and Mrs. Suasa!
