Travis and Elyse met me at Old Poway Park in Poway, CA for their maternity session. They were a little nervous about what to expect, but I reassured them that I would guide them and we would just walk through the park and chat while I snapped a few pictures. I like to keep it super casual with no specific pictures in mind, and that way the creativity flows during the session. During our stroll through the park, I mentioned that Poway is my home town and I am proud to tell you that my parents spent many days at the park helping to restore it to it’s glory. The park is a San Diego treasure with it’s railroad tracks and antique box cars. Train tracks are usually very dangerous to do a photo shoot on, so this is the only location I would ever do a train track session because it is a controlled environment. Safety first!
I love nothing more than to capture a mama with her burgeoning belly. This is one of my whys. I specialize in photographing maternity and newborns because I was inspired by my own birth story. Looking back, I would give anything to have photos of myself like this. So, it makes my heart so happy to be able to capture these memories for other families. Plus, I just love these photos. I may be weird, but my pictures make me happy too. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I do!
