Why not celebrate your first birthday in a Pink Tutu?! That’s exactly how Baby B celebrated turning one. This Cake Smash session is particularly special to me because I had the honor of meeting this little one when she was just two weeks old for her newborn session. I love seeing my alumni babies one year later! If you want to take a trip down memory lane, you can visit her newborn session here:
During the planning phase of her session, her mom sent me sample pictures of her outfit and jewelry. This was fantastic because I was able to see her colors were pink and light gray with a hint of gold. Right away, I knew Storm Gray Seamless Paper would be the perfect choice to make her colors pop. We used a light pink banner with white diagonal stripes to accent the scene and one pink balloon to symbolize her first year. The cake was a three tier 6″ naked cake with whipped frosting that I made and we added a pink Gerber Daisy and pink rose to top it off. Plus, we adorned the cake with a ONE sign by Rockin’ Paper Designz. Baby B loved everything about her smash, from the balloon to the cake, although she was a bit dainty in the actual smashing.
The pictures of her exploring her cake make me laugh. She wrinkled her little nose and really gave a hearty smile while she was dunking her little finger into the icing. She thought that was hilarious! She has the cutest smile and she is a very pleasant baby. I am always thankful to capture such sweet memories for her family to cherish when she is older.
