The first Fall Family portraits of the season were held at Milagro Winery in Ramona and they happened in October. This may seem early, but I think it’s perfect timing to have everything ready for Christmas. The families that participated in this event had their images back well ahead of anyone else and they were able to send cards by Thanksgiving and buy prints and canvases without paying extra for rush orders. I will definitely be offering early family sessions again next year!

The Milagro Winery is a hidden gem in Ramona. The property is 100 + acres of rolling wine country. Step on the property, and you are instantly reminded of the Italian countryside. Milagro even has a Stomp Room that looks like a Tuscan Chateau. There is also a rustic area including wagon wheels, cottage, and an old wooden cart. I think my very favorite feature is the lake and dock. Every inch of this location is phenomenal and picture perfect. Thank you to the staff for allowing me to take pictures at this gorgeous location.

We strolled the grounds and I took hybrid pictures with my Contax 645 and Portra 400 film stock as well as my Nikon D810 digital camera.  I met five families at the winery.

The Carpenter Family have used me several times for sessions including maternity, and several mini sessions. I always love seeing them over and over again through the years, but I think this was my favorite session with them.  I loved having lots of space so their son could run and play and just be himself.  Jen wanted to use the dock as a main focal point.  I just love these dock pictures over the pond with the reflection below them and willow trees surrounding them.  The cobblestone wall is the perfect touch as well:

The Johnson Family visited me for their first family photo session and they traveled all the way from the Mission Valley area. They made the trip up to Ramona after seeing images of the winery.  Sally just loved the scenery and decided that this was the perfect location for their family photos.  I totally agree!  I think the boys really loved jumping off rocks, and exploring the ponds.  So much fun!

The Yanez family has been with me from the very beginning. We’ve been on a journey together and I have more to share about our journey, but I will save that for another blog. For now, I’d like to share their gorgeous love filled images. The day that we took the pictures was actually their wedding anniversary. What a way to celebrate an anniversary!

Pam and her boys have been with me since they were tiny little guys. I can’t believe how fast they are growing into such handsome young men. Pam told me I caught a real smile from her littlest and she was really happy to have that photo to cherish forever. I loved how she styled the boys to go with her outfit. Everything fell into place so perfectly! She even got her hair and makeup done by Melissa Dawn Edwards of Southwestern Styling. She looked gorgeous!!

I had the honor of capturing the Pavon twins when they were born and I also captured their third little guy as a newborn as well. I feel honored that they keep coming back to me year after year. I get nostalgic reminiscing on how small they were and how far they have come. Erin and I were actually pregnant at the same time, so to watch them grow is a true blessing. sandiegophotographer-milagro_0302sandiegophotographer-milagro_0301sandiegophotographer-milagro_0300sandiegophotographer-milagro_0295sandiegophotographer-milagro_0296sandiegophotographer-milagro_0299sandiegophotographer-milagro_0297sandiegophotographer-milagro_0308

I can’t help but feel like all of these families are a part of my family too. I really feel so much love and honor being able to capture family pictures year after year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me as your Family Photographer!
